PROFESSOR WEBSTER, AN EXPERT ON INDUSTRIAL MARKETING STRATEGY AND ORGANIZATION, HAS PUBLISHED 15 BOOKS AND MORE THAN 75 ACADEMIC AND MANAGEMENT JOURNAL ARTICLES. HIS EXECUTIVE PROGRAM TEACHING AND CONSULTING HAVE TAKEN HIM TO MORE THAN 20 COUNTRIES IN EUROPE, ASIA, LATIN AMERICA, AFRICA, AND THE MIDDLE EAST.
 
Professor Webster is recognized for his extensive research, writing, teaching, and consulting in the field of industrial marketing strategy and organization. He is president of FEW Consulting Services, Inc., and serves on the boards of directors of four corporations and several nonprofit organizations. In recent years, his work has focused on the role of marketing in the organization, value-based views of marketing strategy, and the links between organization culture, customer orientation, and business performance.

After completing his doctorate at Stanford, Professor Webster briefly joined the faculty at the Columbia Graduate School of Business and then returned to Dartmouth where he had earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He has also served as executive director of the Marketing Science Institute and as visiting professor at Centre d'Etudes Industrielles in Geneva, Switzerland. His executive program teaching and consulting clients have included Ford, Mobil, IBM, DuPont, Monsanto, Praxair, General Electric, ABB, Chase Manhattan, Volvo, Champion International, and Phillips.
 

Professor Webster’s most recent book is Market-Driven Management (second edition, John Wiley & Sons, 2002). Two of his articles won the Alpha Kappa Psi Award from Journal of Marketing as the best article for the year for their contribution to management understanding of marketing. Another article won the 1993 MSI Best Paper Award.

Professor Webster and his wife Mary Alice spend summers on Southport Island, Maine, and winters in Tucson. They enjoy boating, hiking, and community service. He has been a volunteer fireman for more than 30 years and is a member of the Southport Fire Department. He is also a licensed tractor-trailer driver.
