Sydney Finkelstein is the Associate Dean for Executive Education and Steven Roth Professor of Management at the Tuck School, where he is also Faculty Director of the Tuck Executive Program and the Directors’ Consortium. He is an expert on leadership and strategy, executive decision making, and mergers and acquisitions.

Professor Finkelstein has published 17 books, including Why Smart Executives Fail—a #1 bestseller in the U.S. and Japan—and Think Again: Why Good Leaders Make Bad Decisions and How to Keep It From Happening to You (2009). Why Smart Executives Fail identifies why major mistakes happen, what  the critical early warning signals are, and how we can learn from corporate mistakes. In Think Again, Professor Finkelstein uses research in neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and management to further explain why things go wrong and offer solutions to prevent falling into the traps that lead to bad decisions.

Professor Finkelstein is listed as one of the “World’s Top 25 Leadership Gurus.” His work appears in leading journals and media outlets, and he is a consultant and speaker for major companies around the world.
