Vijay Govindarajan (VG) is the Earl C. Daum 1924 Professor of International Business at the Tuck School and Co-Faculty Director of the Global Leadership consortium. He was the first Professor-in-Residence and Chief Innovation Consultant for General Electric.
Professor Govindarajan works with CEOs and top management teams in Global Fortune 500 firms to discuss, challenge, and escalate their thinking about strategy. Recognized as one of today’s leading business strategists, he was designated No. 3 in the Thinkers50 2011 ranking of most influential living management thinkers and winner of their Breakthrough Idea Award.
He has been named one of the Top 10 Professors in Corporate Executive Education by BusinessWeek and Top 5 Most Respected Executive Coaches on Strategy by Forbes; one of his papers was recognized as among the ten most cited in the 40 year history of the Academy of Management Journal.
Professor Govindarajan has published eleven books, including with co-author Chris Trimble Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators (2005), The Other Side of Innovation: Solving the Execution Challenge (2010), and their most recent, Reverse Innovation: Create Far From Home, Win Everywhere (2012).
