AI Transformation for Executives: Strategy, Implementation, and Organizational Change

AI Transformation for Executives: Strategy, Implementation, and Organizational Change

Tuck Executive Sprints: Live Sessions Taught Online Over Two Days by Faculty Thought Leaders

There may be no greater challenge to firms worldwide right now than navigating the complex new landscape of artificial intelligence (AI), and many organizations must face that challenge without the benefit of extensive experience and best practices. The reward for successful firm-wide AI utilization is significant: myriad competitive advantages and substantial returns. But missteps in implementation can waste opportunities or misallocate resources, causing customer loss, reputational damage, and even legal liabilities.

AI Transformation for Executives will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of successful strategies and frameworks for AI adoption by firms, offered by one of today's leading experts in the field. Tuck professor Dean Alderucci is a renowned voice on AI, and is currently serving Congress as a senior advisor on artificial intelligence for the Science, Space, and Technology Committee.

Program Objectives

At the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify and implement AI products and services to create value for their organizations
  2. Utilize best practices on AI adoption and the development of organization-wide strategies and policies
  3. Overcome common organizational impediments to adopting and scaling AI across a complex organization

Session Topics

This executive sprint will be taught in four 90-minute sessions, taking place over two days. Each will include a mix of presentation and small- and large-group discussions.

Session 1: AI and Businesses (April 1)

Participants will learn about key AI concepts and technologies, gaining an understanding of how AI is qualitatively different than previous new technologies. Armed with these fundamentals, participants will explore the ways that AI can be used by organizations in marketing, operations, and other business areas.

Session 2: Blueprint for AI Implementation (April 1)

Developing and implementing new AI products and services requires a deliberate approach. Instead of simply experimenting with new AI projects, organizations need a framework for AI project development. Participants will build a road map for scaling prototypes, learning how to strategically select AI projects and distinguish good bets from bad bets.

Session 3: Building an AI-Savvy Workforce  (April 8)

Success with AI must involve the workforce responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and using AI systems. Participants will learn the critical workforce issues around AI, from training to addressing employee concerns. Finally, participants will understand how to implement firm policies that ensure AI is always used in a responsible, ethical, and legal manner.

Session 4: AI Enabling the Firm (April 8)

As it becomes more pervasive, many firms will inevitably embrace AI as a fundamental part of their business models and value propositions. In order to enable this transition, firms must undertake organizational and operational changes, reassessing how data can be used to their competitive advantage and learning how to innovate with — and accurately capture the value created by — AI. The program concludes with a discussion on how great CEOs are handling the AI transformation of their firms.

Beyond the four sessions, participants will also have the opportunity for a post-program master class and AI innovation session with Professor Alderucci to discuss specific needs or challenges that participants are facing in their organization's adoption of AI.

Who Should Attend

The program is targeted at senior leadership as well as project and people managers at all levels. The content of the program is relevant for companies across industry. We encourage a team of four or more managers from the same company to attend to maximize application and impact.
